Thornton House Bed and Breakfast is a spacious three bedroom guest house in the heart of Port Townsend’s Historic Uptown District. The original 1885 farmhouse has been carefully restored to reflect the ambiance and charm of a by-gone era. Every effort has been made to retain the original character of the farmhouse while providing present-day amenities and comfort.
With only three guest rooms, we can offer you personalized attention with the space and privacy you are looking for in a romantic and restful home away from home. The wide front porch beckons with comfortable wicker furniture and rockers for easy conversation or quiet reflection after a day of sight-seeing. A second story front deck, with mountain and water views, is the perfect setting for morning coffee, afternoon refreshments or evening star-gazing. You will enjoy relaxing in the two comfortable private parlors available for guests.
While here you can enjoy casual walks through the historic neighborhoods surrounding our Bed and Breakfast and view the many Victorian homes that make Port Townsend such a special place. We are also in close proximity to our downtown National Historic Landmark District with its many shops, restaurants, art galleries and charming waterfront.
We are a non-smoking establishment and we are unable to accomodate children and pets.
During the months of July, August and September a two night minimum stay is required for weekends and festivals.

Garden Room
The Garden Room, with its view of the gardens, conjures images of the past with wonderful old growth fir flooring, original woodwork, and antique furniture. A king size bed provides modern-day comfort for discerning travelers. The large, private bath, a few steps away, features a deep soaking tub and a separate shower with body jets for a relaxing spa experience. Soft robes are provided for guest use.

Sarah’s Room
This bright, cheerful room, with its distant view of Mt Baker, combines 19th century allure with contemporary comfort. A king size bed, cozy armchair, and charming antique furnishings offer a respite from present-day stresses. The new attached private bath contains an original maid’s claw foot tub with shower.

Carriage House
Our recently renovated 1890's carriage house is located a few steps from the main house. French doors welcome you to spacious bedroom suite with a king bed for a quiet and restful night's sleep. Comfortable reading chair, built in dresser, under counter refrigerator, 32 inch HDTV, stained glass window, and antique vanity offer 19th century charm with today's modern conveniences. The ensuite bathroom features a large shower with regular and rain shower fixtures.
